AIPMT results declaration stay extended till 12 June by Supreme Court: 8 June 2015

In the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT 2015) paper leak case, the matter was mentioned today (8 June 2015) before the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court has directed to list the matter on 12 June 2015 now. The Court has further extended the stay granted on the declaration of the AIPMT result from 10 June 2015 to 12 June 2015. Therefore, now, the result of the AIPMT 2015 cannot be declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 12 June 2015 on which date the Supreme Court will again hear the matter and take the call about whether to cancel the AIPMT examination and direct re-examination or to allow the CBSE to declare the results on the basis of the existing AIPMT examination that took place on 3 May 2015.

Latest Update (15 June 2015): 15 June – AIPMT exam cancelled by Supreme Court, re-test to be conducted by CBSE within 4 weeks.

AIPMT Judgment: Tanvi Sarwal v. Central Board of Secondary Education, Supreme Court Judgment, 15 June 2015.

This order was passed by the Supreme Court on 8 June 2015 by a vacation bench comprising of Justice R.K. Agrawal and Justice Amitava Roy in 3 writ petitions in this case W.P.(C) No. 298/2015,  299/2015 and 305/2015, filed by Tanvi Sarwal, Jahnvi Shanker and Adeeba Ahmed respectively. The order passed by the Supreme Court is as under:

“List these matters on 12th June, 2015.

Counter affidavit be filed in the meanwhile.

Till then, interim relief granted on 3rd June, 2015 shall continue to remain in operation.”

So, the students who appeared in the AIPMT 2015 will now have to wait for 2 more days till 12 June 2015 instead of the earlier date of 10 June 2015.
