Three new judges join Bombay High Court, 8 vacancies still remain

On the very first day of the new year 2015, i.e., 1st January 2015, three new judges have joined Bombay High Court, taking its strength to 67 judges vis-à-vis the total strength of 75 (see here). Thus, 8 vacancies are still there, out of which 7 vacant positions are for permanent judges and 1 position is for additional judge of Bombay High Court. The newly appointed judges are Justice Kalidas Laxmanrao Wadane, Justice Kumari Indira Kanahaiyalal Jain, and Justice Dr. (Smt.) Shalini Shashank Phansalkar-Joshi. All the three newly appointed judges have been elevated from the judiciary and no advocate has been directly elevated this time.

Shah, Justice P.V. Hardas, Justice Smt. R.S. Dalvi, Justice A.P. Bhangale, Justice P.D. Kode, Justice A.R. Joshi, Justice M.L. Tahiliani, and Justice U.V. Bakre.
