Tilak Marg had recently reported, quoting a Facebook update from the Supreme Court Bar Association, that the Supreme Court is likely to discontinue the practice of printing hard copies of the Supreme Court cause lists with effect from 1st February 2015 (see here). Now, the Supreme Court has today (13 January 2015) put an official Notice on its website informing the decision taken by the competent authority to discontinue the practice of printing and rolling out hard copies of the Cause Lists by the Rolling branch of the Supreme Court registry with effect from 1st February 2015. Hence, all cause lists will now be available only in the soft or electronic form on the website of the Supreme Court or through free email subscription.
The Supreme Court has advised the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association (SCORA) to provide the email addresses of its members who want to receive copies of the electronic cause lists. The Central Agency Section of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India (which looks after the Central Government cases in the Supreme Court) has also been advised by the Supreme Court to provide email addresses of its officers.
It is pertinent to mention that the electronic cause lists of the Supreme Court are available online at the address: http://www.sci.nic.in/newcl.htm, and also at the address: http://www.sci.nic.in/archivenewcl.htm (which also has the archive cause lists).
