The National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC) is yet to be formally set up. However, it appears that it has already been allocated a formal office, quite close to the Supreme Court in New Delhi. On the e-Awas website of the Directorate of Estate, Government of India, it is shown that the National Judicial Appointments Commission has (been allocated and has) occupied bungalow No. AB13 on Mathura Road in New Delhi with effect from 17 February 2015. Have a look at the above image.
As has been mentioned by Tilak Marg earlier (see here), the NJAC is yet to be formally set up since the Government is yet to notify in the official Gazette the coming into force of the provisions of the Constitution (99th Amendment) Act, 2014 and the National Judicial Appointments Commission Act, 2014, which provide for the establishment of the NJAC. In fact, the aforesaid Constitutional Amendment has been challenged in the Supreme Court by way of three PILs and these PILs are yet to be hears since they are first likely to referred to a 5-judge Constitution Bench. However, it appears that the Government is taking steps to set up the NJAC. The allocation (and apparent occupation) of an office for NJAC appears to be a step in this direction.
