The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Principal Bench, New Delhi, has asked the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) to decide by January 5, 2016, on Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi’s deputation to the Delhi government.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had written to union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on February 16, 2015, seeking the services of Indian Forest Service officer Chaturvedi as officer on special duty in his office.
The proposal was pending with the ministry of environment and forests, the cadre-controlling ministry of the officer, till May. On June 2, a no-objection certificate from the health ministry was sought.
Nothing could be decided on the issue even after letters were exchanged between the health ministry, MoEF, department of personnel and training and All India Institute of Medical Sciences here.
On October 7, the officer approached CAT which ordered the MoEF on October 16 to complete the processing of all NOCs by November 6.
Chaturvedi, a 2002 batch IFS officer, was removed as chief vigilance officer of AIIMS in August 2014, two years before the completion of his tenure.
He continues to be a deputy secretary at the AIIMS, and recently wrote to Cabinet Secretary P.K. Sinha about allocation of official work.
