Supreme Court to have a regular Commercial Litigation Bench

The Supreme Court has taken a decision to have a regular Commercial Litigation bench from 1st July 2015. This bench will take up regular hearing of matters of commercial nature from Tuesday to Friday every week, and it will hear miscellaneous matters on every Monday.

Following types of matters will be listed for regular hearing before this bench:

  1. Company Law / MRTP / TRAI / SEBI / IRDA / RBI etc. matters.
  2. Civil matters arising out of Securities Act 1992 and Appeals under Section 10 of Special Courts (Trial of Offences Relating to Transactions in Securities) Act 1992.
  3. Appeal under section 53T of the Competition Act, 2002.
  4. Mercantile Laws, Commercial Transactions including Banking Matters relating to Securitisation, Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Reinforcement of Securities Interest Act, 2002.
  5. Simple Money and Mortgage Matters.
  6. Matters Relating to Leases, Govt. Contracts & Contracts by Local Bodies.
  7. State Excise ­trading In Liquor, Privileges, Licences, Distilleries, Breweries.
