On 01.06.2016, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has issued three notifications dated 01.06.2016 for establishing the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). These notifications are available here and here.
As per the Press Information Bureau, Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the said three Notifications are made effective from 01.06.2016 and NCLT will have eleven Benches, consisting of two Benches at New Delhi and one each at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bengluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. Further, Hon’ble Justice S.J. Mukhopadhaya, Judge (Retd.), Supreme Court of India shall join as the Chairperson of the NCLAT and Hon’ble Justice M.M. Kumar, Judge (Retd.) shall join as the President of the NCLT.
Resultantly, the Company Law Board (CLB) shall stand dissolved per section 466 of the Companies Act 2013.
